CALENDAR

The White County Historical Society meets at least once per quarter. The day and time change depending on whether it's a conference, tour, or a class.

You do not have to be a member to attend meetings, but we would love for you to join in our efforts to preserve our county's history.

PROJECTS

WCHS Archive

Beebe Colored School

This cooperative effort between the City of Beebe and the WCHS to save the last historical example of segregation in the county began in 2021.

Legion Hut (Searcy)

Restoration began in 2019 with a collaborative effort between the City of Searcy, Main Street Searcy, and the WCHS.

Pioneer Village

Founded in 1967 at the Fair Grounds, it was moved to its current location in 2002 and has been maintained by the City of Searcy, Master Gardeners, and the WCHS.

Smyrna Church

This partnership between the City of Searcy and the WCHS saved the oldest church building in Arkansas and has maintained it since acquisition in 2009.
